Success Profile: Words for Hire, CEO, Karen Swim, leads best practices for 7,000 member Solo PR Community

Karen Swim, CEO of Words for Hire and thought leading founder of Solo PR Pro, a 7,000 member community of Global Solo Communication Professionals.

What a delight today, to tune in to Muck Rack and find Jessica Lawler‘s Professional Development column article featuring one of my favorite favorite Public Relations Professionals in the world the article titled “Solo superwoman: How Karen Swim runs a 7,000 person strong community of solo PR pros“.

When working at Sun Microsystems, over a decade ago, we were weathering a huge turbulent climate. Sun Microsystems, as many other companies, began layoffs and reductions in force, as necessary but difficult, business rebalancing after the World Trade Center Bombings happened 09.11.01. They were tough times, and terror had gripped our world. In this darkness, and fear, I started a Professional Jobs N Career Success Network to help encourage laid off professionals world wide to find new jobs and career success.

The New York Times Entrepreneurship section featured a great article for turbulent times by writer, Dan Fost titled In Hard Times, Freelancers Turn To the Web that sets the stage of introducing why we celebrate Karen Swim as a leader in Business Resources, Advice and Articles around Starting and Maintaining a GREAT and AMAZING Business.

Karen Swim has energized my innovation thinking. and that of our 14,000+ member community, for over a decade. Karen is a giver and a powerhouse personality that makes things happen to create community and opportunity in the world of innovation. Putting relationships first will always make a difference. NO ONE does this better than Karen.

We have to have a process to move relationships forward. One of the most challenging things to do is find leads. Whether you are seeking a job, or a business, it is the interactions that get jobs, contracts, or business. Landing a position, a contract, or business. One of the slowest method is to submit RFPs.

The most efficient way to drive results is to focus on methods that allow you to develop and nurture relationships through Inbound Marketing that captures the hearts and minds that is important to the target audience. Offer valuable resources like a checklists, tip sheets, offer what they find valuable then you have an opportunity to move digital relationships forward.
